📖 Guidelines:

Your story must be original and unpublished, and written in Arabic. 📝📚

Your story should not exceed 1500 words and must be appropriate for children. 🧒👦👧

Terms and Conditions

Introduction

Ajyaal is organizing a writing contest for aspiring writers to promote reading and creativity among children in the UAE. The contest invites writers to submit their original and unpublished stories that inspire children to learn, grow, and have a positive impact on their communities. By participating in the contest, writers agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

The contest is open to all aspiring writers who are residents of the UAE. There will be two categories for submission: one for the elder group above the age of 18 and one for the younger group (students aged 6 to 18). Employees of Ajyaal and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

Guidelines for Submission

Writers must follow the guidelines listed below to be eligible for the contest:

The story must be original, unpublished, and in Arabic.
The story should promote high values such as empathy, kindness, social responsibility, diverse perspectives, creativity, discovery, and critical thinking.
The story should not exceed 1500 words and must be appropriate for children.
The story should have relatable and interactive characters for children.
The language and description of the story should be engaging and lively.

Participation

To participate in the contest, writers must:

Purchase any book from Ajyaal.com to get familiar with the writing style and the types of books published by Ajyaal.
Write an original story for children that meets the guidelines listed above.
Submit the story to Submit@ajyaal.com before April 30, 2023.
Include their name, email address, and phone number in the submission email.
Indicate in the submission email whether they are submitting for the elder group or the younger group.

Selection of Winners

Ajyaal will select two winners, one from each group, based on the quality and creativity of their stories. The winners will be announced on May 31, 2023. The prizes are as follows:

The winner of the elder group will receive AED 1800 in cash and three copies of their published book.
The winner of the younger group will receive AED 1200 in cash and three copies of their published book.

Intellectual Property Rights

The winners of the contest agree to transfer the intellectual property rights of their submitted story to Ajyaal. Ajyaal has the right to publish, promote, and distribute the story in any format or media without any further approval or compensation from the winning writers.
By submitting an entry to the contest, the writer acknowledges and agrees that Ajyaal shall have the right to use, modify, and/or reproduce any elements of the submitted story without any further approval or compensation from the writer.
The writer represents and warrants that the submitted story is original and does not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights. The writer agrees to indemnify and hold Ajyaal harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from any alleged or actual infringement of third-party intellectual property rights related to the submitted story.

Disqualification

Ajyaal has the right to disqualify any writer who does not comply with these terms and conditions or who submits inappropriate content.

Limitation of Liability

Ajyaal will not be liable for any damages, losses, or expenses incurred by the writers as a result of their participation in the contest.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the UAE, and any dispute arising from or related to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the UAE courts.

Agreement to Terms and Conditions

By participating in the contest, writers agree to comply with these terms and conditions and any amendments made to them by Ajyaal.
